REHEARSALS FOR FALL 2010
BEGIN OCTOBER 4, 2010

The Chorus is a neighborhood based group of singers who have been performing in Clinton Hill and Fort Greene neighborhoods for over thirty-five years. We employ professional vocal and instrumental soloists for our performances. Our music ranges from works in the great choral tradition, to Gilbert and Sullivan, to settings of hymns and spirituals, to contemporary music.

We give three concerts a year—Fall, Palm Sunday and Spring. There is a suggested donation at all concerts. TDF vouchers are accepted.

We currently have approximately 40 members and are looking for singers of all voices. There is no audition—a love of music and an ear for music are the only requirements. Rehearsals are Mondays, 7:30-9:30 p.m. at Cadman Memorial Congregational Church at the corner of Lafayette and Clinton Avenues. Dues are collected twice a year from members to help defray rehearsal expenses, i.e space and rehearsal pianist. Members also purchase their musical scores.

We employ professional vocal and instrumental soloists for our performances. While a portion of our expense is covered by membership dues, ticket sales, we actively solicit and receive donations from individuals and businesses and grants from government agencies and private foundations. We are a tax exempt organization.
